I've often heard people say, "Why are you so concerned about [this moral failing]? If you needed brain surgery and the best brain surgeon in the world did [this thing], would you not want him to operate on you because of that?" To which I reply, Maybe true ... but a person who has these deep character flaws is unlikely to be the best brain surgeon in the world. Like, if I needed brain surgery and the best brain surgeon in the world was a cocaine addict, etc. But I rather doubt that a cocaine addict would ever become the best brain surgeon in the world. Or if I discovered that the best brain surgeon on the world cheated on his wife, etc. Except, if he cheats on his wife, maybe he cheated to get through medical school. If he's been lying to his wife, maybe he's been lying about the results of his past surgeries. Etc.

Wow. I have SO MUCH to impart about all of this but I can't do this here. All I can say is that this is yet one more brilliant assessment you have made on this particular subject. I was always a woman men wanted and never had any problems relating with them. Why? Because I was just me. I can talk to anyone. Unfortunately, I sure made a lot of poor choices. Should have been a gold digger! But then...you find the gold you dug turns out to be one of those of those rat turds or worse and then, as much as you love them, you have to let them go. I should write a book. But I need a pen name. My family would be horrified.
