Another Day, Another Man Pretending to be a Woman Breaking Records
Allowing biological men to compete against women in sports is madness
I’ve been doing martial arts on and off for decades (it has been Muay Thai and Filipino stick fighting for the last few years). My parents know that and once, while we were watching a UFC PPV, they asked me how I’d do against someone like Michelle Nunes, who is arguably the best female fighter in the world. She’s much smaller than me and they expected me to say that I’d beat her. Instead, I said something like, “Very few women would have any chance in a fight against me, but if you’re talking about people on the edges of human performance, like top of the food chain female fighters, that could be a different story.” In other words, as one of my favorite sayings goes, “there are levels to the game“ (we’ll come back to that in a moment).
In a fight between a man and a woman, a man’s physical advantages are so great that the woman needs to be orders of magnitude more skilled to have a chance to be competitive. As a side note, that’s one of the reasons I genuinely despise those one-off self-defense courses for women. Some instructor shows up, teaches a woman a handful of complicated maneuvers almost no one would use in a real fight, has her training partner move exactly the right way to make them work, and leaves her with the false idea that she can defend herself from a male attacker. This sort of laughably unrealistic, “you-go-girl” nonsense is dangerous to teach to women.
If you’re a woman and you want to defend yourself from a man in a fight, there is a way to do it effectively and it’s not a self-defense course.
Getting back to the topic at hand, a biological man, by virtue of being a biological man has enormous physical advantages over a woman in most athletic endeavors. That’s why we have women’s sports and not just “sports.” If we just had “sports,” there would be almost no women able to play them at the highest levels. If you find this confusing for some reason, go watch some games at your local high school and try to genuinely evaluate the speed, power, and athleticism of boys’ and girls’ teams. If you’re not blind, the difference will become quickly and obviously apparent. This is why, for example, a few years back, an under-15 boys squad from Dallas beat the women’s national team in soccer. It’s also why British rapper Zuby was able to do this.
Admittedly, Zuby is a very strong guy. Percentage-wise, there are very few men that can deadlift 525 pounds. However, it’s worth noting that there are NO women in Britain who can deadlift 525 pounds and the men’s deadlifting record is 1155 pounds. In other words, there are levels to the game and physically, men potentially have a lot more levels to work with physically than women. Incidentally, what Zuby was able to do isn’t out of the ordinary. For example, look at these numbers from the winners of the 2018 CrossFit Games. Both the men and women did the same work-outs, so we are able to directly compare the best-of-the-best of each gender in the event.
The results of the overall winner of the CrossFit Total on the men’s side, Royce Dunne, are below:
BACK SQUAT – 470 lbs.
STRICT PRESS – 220 lbs.
DEADLIFT – 565 lbs.
OVERALL TOTAL – 1255 lbs.
The results of the overall winner of the CrossFit Total on the women’s side, Tia-Clair Toomey, are below:
BACK SQUAT – 330 lbs.
STRICT PRESS – 130 lbs.
DEADLIFT – 415 lbs.
OVERALL TOTAL – 875 lbs.
Toomey’s BACK SQUAT of 330 lbs. was exactly 70% of Dunne’s 470.
Toomey’s STRICT PRESS of 130 lbs. was exactly 59% of Dunne’s 220.
Toomey’s DEADLIFT of 415 lbs. was exactly 73% of Dunne’s 565.
Toomey’s OVERALL TOTAL of 875 lbs. was exactly 70% of Dunne’s 1255.
This is not a shock. Male athletes tend to carry more muscle and less fat than female athletes. So, even if they’re the same weight, there’s often a big difference in how it’s distributed. Men tend to be taller, have longer and larger bones and stronger ligaments. Yes, men also have more testosterone than women and that is another athletic advantage that we have, but that’s only one small piece of the puzzle. The standard woke claim these days is that you can simply give men drugs that suppress our testosterone level and that evens the playing field between males and females. Of course, that’s as ludicrous as claiming that the moon is made out of green cheese, the Illuminati run the world, or that QAnon is right and Trump is going to be reinstalled as president any day now. If Lebron James changed his name to Lashonda and had his testosterone suppressed, does anyone think he would just be “one of the girls” who’d be competing with the other players on an even basis? The current holder of the “World’s Strongest Man” title is Zydrunas Savickas. Does anyone think that if he were put on testosterone blockers that he still wouldn’t break every woman’s weight-lifting record on earth by hundreds of pounds?
That brings us to Lia Thomas, a male swimmer who has transitioned and is now competing against real women.
A trans swimmer and senior at the University of Pennsylvania, who previously spent three years competing as a man, is now crushing records in women's events, sparking outrage amid controversy surrounding transgender athletes.
Lia Thomas, 22, formerly named Will, has competed in a number of events recently, including a tri-meet with Cornell and Princeton universities on November 20 where the senior 'blasted' UPenn records in the 200m and 500m freestyle - posting times that beat almost every other female swimmer across America.
With a time of 1:43:47 in the 200m freestyle, Thomas would have been in line to secure a silver medal at the NCAA Women's Championships, while her 4:35:06 in the 500m freestyle would have been good enough to win bronze.
This is the latest controversy in the ongoing argument over whether trans people should be allowed to compete in sports alongside athletes of the opposite gender than they were assigned at birth.
It is unknown when Thomas began transitioning, but NCAA rules state she had to have completed one year of testosterone suppression treatment in order to compete.
Her last known men's event was November 16, 2019.
Personally, I believe it breaks the Hippocratic Oath for a doctor to surgically mutilate someone who’s mentally ill in a doomed effort to help them “become” another gender. If you went to your doctor tomorrow and asked him to cut out your healthy eyes or chop off your healthy feet because you felt like you shouldn’t have them, I’d hope that he’d say “no” as well. Of course, that’s not the world we live in, so if Will Thomas chooses to tinker with his hormones and have surgery (I don’t know if he’s had his genitalia cut off) to become Lia Thomas, he can certainly do it. He can also choose to continue swimming. Since I believe he’s mentally ill and falsely believes he can become a woman, it’s hard to even hold it against him that he wants to compete against women.
The real problem is all the other people that are enabling Thomas’ mental illness when they should know better. If a furry who was really convinced that he was a dog in a human body wanted to compete in the Westminster Dog Show, they should say no. If an adult pedo says he wants to date a 12-year-old because he identifies as a child, we shouldn’t say, “Oh, well, if you feel like you’re 12, I guess it’s okay.” If a man who’s delusional says he’s Napoleon, we shouldn’t just take him at his word and start asking him how he managed to time travel to 2021.
The very fact that we’re encouraging this madness will only lead to more madness. Lia Thomas is not a woman, you can’t change genders, and believing that you can change your gender is a sign you’re deeply mentally ill. Catering to this illness is harmful, disgusting, destroys lives, and drives people to suicide. It’s one of the worst and most bizarre things we’ve done as a society in a long time and every responsible adult should be willing to say so.
A woman in my neighborhood is a personal trainer. We were at a Christmas party and she is wearing a tank top...it was 34 degrees out. I could not help myself and made a joke..."suns out guns out" her response..."you just can't handle a powerful woman" . I told her flat out...you have zero power, you are not in your womans gym so check yourself. "I deadlift 225 for 5"
I then showed her the video of me deadlifting 405 for 14 reps and shoulder pressing 225 for 8. Conversation ended .
Yeah, I've seen that video of the woman's "self defense" demonstration before. Note that she doesn't even demonstrate any particular skill or technique. She just flails about wildly and after a few seconds the men fall down for no apparent reason. Obviously they were told they were supposed to fall after she hit them a couple of times. It might be plausible if the woman demonstrated some real martial arts skill. But this woman did not. If she thinks that she could take on two men who were really trying to do her arm like this, and then confidently puts herself in a dangerous situation, she's is in for a very rude awakening.
I'm an overweight old man with medical problems who was never that athletic in my best days. I don't suppose for a moment I could take on two healthy young men simultaneously like that. But then, I don't live in a fantasy world.
