Your question, "Who would you rather see shaping the future of this country — people like Charlie Kirk or people like those who celebrated his murder?" needs no forethought. It is a foregone conclusion-people like Charlie Kirk. The other choice is to proclaim yourself anti-everything worth living and dying for. Thank you so much, John, for presenting this list of Charlie Kirk's texts.

We (all) lost a good one. The dems are just too blind to see that.

The problem is that “we (all) lost a good one” doesn’t include the leftists, because they don’t want to save America in the first place, like he did.

I believe he WAS including leftists, in stating what Christianity does and expects. There are none so blind as those who will not see.

Yeah... Charlie was a right-wing radical. If you're a standard campus-indoctrinated Democrat these days, what has been normal for decades is now right-wing radical.

Great article, John. Charlie Kirk had such a brilliant mind and a heart for Our Lord, Jesus Christ.

I appreciate what you did here. And I say that as someone who is non-religious and has been a political independent for too long to count (but who grew up in a secular Republican household). That said, your question, "Who would you rather see shaping the future of this country — people like Charlie Kirk or people like those who celebrated his murder?" is disingenuous. Who is arguing that anyone celebrating a murder should be running this country? We only get two choices? Further, you say, "many on the Left genuinely believe these ordinary, mainstream views are things you literally deserve to die for expressing." That is true, to some extent—but you are making a terrible mistake to paint with such a broad brush and only portray two types of people, doing so in black-and-white. It's the age-old straw man argument--you get to define the enemy, and you can mischaracterize to your heart's content. Independents outnumber Republicans two to one. Independents outnumber Democrats two to one. To act as if there isn't anyone in the right wing who would celebrate murder of someone on the political Left is just preposterous. If we truly want to turn down the temperature, we need to humanize everyone, not just those we agree with who have been attacked. And, yes, absolutely, that means characterizing accurately who Charlie Kirk was and what his views were, without distortion. Thank you for compiling this.

His focused work ethic is something I will admire and hold as a gold standard in life. Does anyone else have a feeling that this was not Charlie’s first trip through an Earthly life?
