I dropped into the groove of this essay right at the beginning, when you pointed out how many people, Christian and non, will sort of instantly try to stifle your expression of disapproval of aberrant behavior with the knee jerk "judge not lest ye be judged." Esp when they know you are a Christian, they will do it to "prove" that you're a hypocrite and try to shame you. It's a classic example of knowing just enough about the Bible to be dangerous. Of course rational people should judge other people's actions, we just don't get the final word on whether they are heaven bound or not, that right remains with the Lord. Don't believe that? Try applying "turn the other cheek" to a nation's foreign policy! This essay also highlights my biggest issue with the ELCA, a mainline Protestant denomination. The leadership became so afraid that someone would accuse them of being judgmental or discriminatory that they've literally backed away from the Word of the Bible. Just like with American society, you can't start stripping off parts you don't like, and expect it to keep working. After 50 years, I stopped going to my ELCA church, because the Spirit had left the building- evicted by SJW pastors who tried to become man-pleasers, and it's all "love, love, love," and forget all about that sin and judgment stuff. Thanks for writing this thought provoking piece, John..

That anyone takes these "people" seriously is a pretty good reason to believe our culture is long past its prime. I don't personally know anyone like this human waste, but if I did, my reaction would be to laugh at them. They are 🤡🤡🤡, after all.

My concern is it too late to do anything about the direction the country is going? The marsh towards Marxism and the education of our kids towards woke and liberal ideas?????

It's kind of like trying to bail out a ship before it sinks. Maybe it is too late. However, if it's not too late, the best time to start doing something about it is right now. When it's all said and done, even if it doesn't work out, it's not as if you're going to feel bad that you tried to change the world for the better.

Something that a great many people have missed is the fact that Jesus' admonition is actually in two parts. The next portion reads, "For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged, and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured unto you again." This is meant not to disable judgement, but to prohibit legalism and hypocrisy. If I am to lay a charge against my fellow man, Scripture dictates that my own house be in order, especially in regard to similar sin. We apply the light of conviction to our own lives, and in so doing, we may even gain a way of approach to those needing a rebuke. This (post)modernistic idea that we are all supposed to live and let live, regardless of what goes on is, indeed, foolishness. But what is also necessary is understanding what separates common eccentrics (like myself, and I make no bones about it) from degenerates and the like. That requires separating actual morality from the arbitrary social neuroses of Victorian and Edwardian life. Without an objective standard of behavior, we devolve right back to that. Although, as an aside, I wouldn't use out of wedlock birth as an example. As an Historian, I've read through a LOT of contemporary accounts, especially church and court records that point to how persistent the problem has been. Some of the "breach of promise" cases and Bastardy files would make your aforementioned Mexican street walker blush.

Cheers.

Important to realise the aetiology and influence of the transgender ideology are (to me at least) obscure. It’s hopefully a fad. What could be less important than a man pretending he’s female? Maybe a fly contending gravity is intolerable.

This is actually, maybe by far, the dumbest article I’ve ever read. I can clearly tell that you’re not big on history or context, must be nice to be so emotionally reactionary with barely a single coherent thought.

Wow dude, it really takes skill to be this disgusting and hateful while giving zero credible arguments and saying nothing of substance! I can tell you’ve had an extremely unhappy life

"Judge not" is found in Matthew 7:1. Just a few sentences later, Matthew 7:6, Jesus said, "Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs." And in 7:15 he says, "Watch out for false prophets." And 7:21, "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord', will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in Heaven."

So when Jesus said "judge not", he did not mean what liberals take this statement to mean, "don't say that anything is good or bad". Because five second later he was rattling off a list of things that are good and things that are bad.

I read a policy statement from a college once that included the sentence, "Intolerance will not be tolerated." Did the person who wrote that not instantly see the paradox? Liberals say that we should not engage in moral condemnation of any behavior. But they engage in moral condemnation of moral condemnation.

Not to mention that they'll say not to condemn, but the next thing out of their mouths will be that racism is evil. If racism is evil, could there not be other things that are evil?
