Sadly, "free checking" is now a thing of the past for many low and middle income families. Why? Biden, Obama and company "helped" to remove the bank overdraft fees for many people who chronically spent more than they had. So, the banks spread the wealth to cover them to everyone else -- meaning fees for checking.

Bob, I don't need the Gubment looking out for me, I can do that myself. The Federal Gubment is out of control and its head count needs to shrink by 85%... We don't need more dumb-ass legislation, we need significantly less!!! People need to be responsible individuals instead of Gubment dependents...

What a silly interpretation of the president's intent. Even should the removal of these hidden fees result in higher prices, the goal is transparent pricing! The finsl price won't be any hirer than it is right now - I'll just know about it up front. When I buy something for $10 it should cost $10 - not $10 plus $1 handling, $2 processing, $2.50 postage, etc - those "hidden" costs are what are killing average Joe Americans. What we want is upfront pricing - I stand with the President on this one.

Postage, processing, handling fees are not “hidden.” That is like saying sales tax is a hidden fee and shouldn’t be charged. If you buy a $10 item, it NEVER costs a flat $10 bc you pay tax. If you don’t know enuf to ask for all applicable fees BEFORE making the reservation, that is your mistake. How about all the fees added to utility bills? People MUST have electricity/gas/water. Why not address all the additional fees on mandatory goods/services rather than on discretionary purchases? Or medical hidden costs??? Again, Let’s work on transparent pricing in required services/needs like healthcare before discretionary purchases.
