How Long Will It Be Before Liberals and Conservatives Start Killing Each Other in Large Numbers?
Before we get started, let me just note that I don’t have an answer to the question posed by the title. Some people may think they do -- “It’ll be next week,” or “Never” -- but they don’t.
That’s the thing about history.
It tends to move glacially, so slowly you can barely tell anything’s happening, and then, some spark catches, and it moves extremely fast.
For example, look at some of the key events that happened in the run-up to the Civil War:
* In 1787, the 3/5s compromise was devised so Democrats could get House representation credit for having slaves but didn’t have to let them vote.
* Then, the Fugitive Slave Act of 1793 led to long-simmering resentment as Congress forced free people in the North to return slaves that escaped from the South.
* In 1831, Nat Turner led a violent slave revolt in Virginia that killed dozens of people. Southerners were horrified, but the attitude of the North was, “they deserved it.”
* From 1836 to 1844, the gag rule in Congress immediately tabled all anti-slavery resolutions because they were causing so much conflict.
* In 1854, the Republican Party, which was dedicated to being an anti-slavery party, was formed and it completely displaced the Whigs, who were the party that the pro-slavery Democrats were up against before then.
* A Democratic congressman nearly beat Charles Sumner to death in 1856 after he gave an anti-slavery speech, which horrified Republicans and showed how deep the divisions had gotten.
* In 1859, John Brown, along with a group of white and black men, tried to raid a federal armory to get weapons to start a slave uprising in the South. It failed and they were hung. Republicans sympathized with John Brown while Democrats were horrified at what he tried to do.
Things then escalated after Lincoln was elected in 1860. South Carolina seceded a little over a month later. Roughly 3 months later, more states seceded and the Confederacy was born. Keep in mind that all of this happened BEFORE LINCOLN EVEN TOOK OFFICE, which happened in March back then. A little over a month later, the South fired on Fort Sumter, and the Civil War began.
As you read all of this, you start to get a sense of how it works. You could see there was going to potentially be a conflict 73 years before the start of the Civil War, and the violence started escalating significantly roughly five years before everything kicked off.
Think about that timeline and the 500+ liberal riots we’ve had since 2020. Even as we speak, there’s essentially government-endorsed rioting and harassment, some of it violent, against ICE taking place in Minnesota. The police are being held back. The local government is indifferent to whether people die or not, and under almost any circumstances imaginable, the Left and Right are going to take opposite sides of any conflict. Could we be in the run-up to extreme violence and an American crack-up in the next few years?
Absolutely.
Liberals have built networks of rioters all over America. They glorify ANTIFA, who are nothing more than sociopaths and terrorists. They openly endorse violence against Nazis while simultaneously declaring that everyone who disagrees with them on anything is a Nazi. We’ve had multiple assassination attempts engaged in by liberals, and after one of them killed Charlie Kirk, they publicly cheered it by the millions.
It is not hard to imagine the sort of street violence liberals have tacitly endorsed spilling into the wrong area, with large numbers of casualties ensuing as a result, and having that spread across the country with both sides embracing supporting everything “their side” did.
Of course, this is not just something on the street level either. The leaders of the Democratic Party don’t just support the worst impulses of their base, they hold the police back to allow left-wing rioters to do as they please, work to make it easier to potentially cheat in elections, openly flout immigration laws to allow millions of illegals into the country they intend to turn into voters, funnel billions of taxpayer dollars into the pockets of their political allies, and promise to arrest their political opponents (again) when they get into power.
Additionally, we are now at the point where it’s mainstream in the Democratic Party to suggest legislative acts that would be highly destabilizing to the whole country. Gun confiscation, getting rid of the filibuster for legislation in the Senate, and stacking the Supreme Court could very easily lead to widespread violence and the dissolution of the whole country.
Quite frankly, a large percentage of gun owners correctly believe liberals would slaughter them if they gave up their guns, so they would live or die by that famous, old Charlton Heston quote:
You can be sure that if the legislative filibuster in the Senate were removed, Democrats would rig the rules to try to lock themselves in power, which Republicans would consider unacceptable. You could literally see Republicans refuse to accept the results of elections. Imagine not just protests or complaints about an election, but half the country absolutely refusing to accept the “winner” as legitimate.
And the most likely outcome of stacking the Supreme Court would be red states treating SCOTUS rulings they didn’t like as illegitimate, which would make the country ungovernable.
Will these things happen? We don’t know, but could we see ALL of these happen as early as 2028? Absolutely.
Keep in mind that there is a sizable contingent on the Left, including many leftist politicians, that would love to seize power and launch widespread violence, censorship, and oppression aimed at conservatives by the government. These are people who would find kicking off some sort of violent struggle with the Right to be highly appealing, as long as they think they can use the military and police to kill their opponents – and I hate to tell you, but very few liberals who disagreed with them would speak up or try to stop it.
The thinking on the Left these days is entirely tribal. They believe what they think is good because their tribe believes it, and there’s no need to treat people outside the tribe with respect, tell the truth about them, be fair to them, or even treat them with even the most minimal amount of human decency.
The problem with this is that it’s completely incompatible with living in a free society that has large numbers of people outside of your “tribe.” We’re seeing that in Minnesota right now. They don’t care about the law, they don’t care about cooperation, and they don’t even see the ICE agents just trying to do their jobs as human beings. They’re following them, screaming at them, cursing them, threatening them, in some cases attacking them – and then they blame them for every conflict that results from that. It’s pure insanity, and there’s no reasoning with them.
Granted, if the American people were willing to punish this kind of behavior, it would have an impact, but the populace has fallen into a pattern of mostly just alternating parties every few years, almost regardless of performance, which really doesn’t give either side any incentive to do more than make minor changes.
The only saving grace we have is that the wheels of history turn slowly and sometimes, in very unpredictable ways. If you look back at the anarchist bombings roughly a century ago or the left-wing riots and bombings in the sixties, it would be easy to conclude we were on the cusp of a violent upheaval. On the other hand, just because it didn’t happen then doesn’t mean that it can’t happen now.
All we can say for sure is that if we get to that point, it will be a disaster for pretty much everyone. That’s why you should take some steps to prepare and genuinely accept the possibility that 1776 part two for America really, truly, might take place in the next few years.

Just my opinion. Change my mind:
The Left has had a huge head start in the killings, whether by stopping hearts, crippling agency or stifling livelihoods. When the ends justifies the means the barriers to inflict death are already eroded. Its ranks swell with sociopaths and psychopaths itching to inflict harms. They already embrace abortion, state assisted suicide, etc.
Meanwhile, it takes a great deal of provocation for the Right to come to blows. The Right is largely dominated by those of conscience and restraint. Also, they have jobs, run businesses, as well hold an ethos of constraint.
The Right must endure an immense load before its self-imposed constraints can no longer hold. But, one should look for the false flag from the Left to be the trigger. The Left are schemers while the Right plod (not to be mistaken as plot).
Once those constraints break down, the floodgates may open.
I think you may be confusing the republicans of today with the republicans of yore. Today's republicans can only offer strongly worded letters to the opposition and then go back to fundraising.
Their position seems to be to make nice to the democrats and get back to padding their pockets. With no real opposition, the left will gain power again and the end of the republic will be heated discussions by historians in the future.
Thune and Johnson will be described as the last nail in the coffin of America solely because of their hatred for Trump.
