If you want to get a sense of what modern American liberalism has become, the best way to do it is just to listen to the things that liberals say. Liberalism has always been misguided, but it has increasingly become unhinged, mean-spirited, and nihilistic. As proof, here are 25 quotes (in alphabetical order) from liberals over the last decade that give you a very good sense of the sort of “thinking” that the whole ideology now revolves around. It is not a pretty picture.
1) "Drag storytellers, and the libraries and schools that support them, are advancing a love of diversity, personal expression, and literacy that is core to what our city embraces." — Mayor Eric Adams

3) "I wish what they’d do is pass a law to make you immune from liability if you punch some unvaccinated person right in the face, which I’d really like to do. If you ask me what’s my first reaction to you if you’re not vaccinated, you don’t have any medical reason not to be, you’re a piece of sh*t, OK? I just want to punch you in the god****ed face. That’s the way I look at these people." — James Carville
4) "Spare me the bullsh*t about Constitutional rights." — Democratic Congressman David Cicilline
5) ”To me, capitalism is irredeemable.” -- Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

11) "White people genuinely think that police make kids safer when in reality at most schools the police ARE the threat." — David Hogg
12) "Here’s an unpopular opinion: I’m actually not at all concerned about innocent men losing their jobs over false sexual assault/harassment allegations… Sorry. If some innocent men’s reputations have to take a hit in the process of undoing the patriarchy, that is a price I am absolutely willing to pay." — Emily Linden
13) SEN. BLACKBURN: "Can you provide a definition of the word 'woman'?"
JACKSON: "No, I can't"
BLACKBURN: "You can't?"

This is literally a position that permanent changes are fine as long as you’re not trans. An inability to offer informed consent or understand the long-term consequences is actually an argument for putting every single cis and trans person on puberty blockers until they acquire that ability." — Zinnia Jones
16) "If this country doesn’t give us what we want then we will burn down the system and replace it. All right. And I could be speaking figuratively, I could be speaking literally. It’s a matter of interpretation." — Hawk Newsome, the president of Greater New York Black Lives Matter
17) "The angry white guy is dying out, and the Census Bureau has already told us that by 2050, white people are going to be the minority, and I’m not sad to say I can’t wait for that day to happen. I hope I live long enough to see it because it will be a better country." — Michael Moore
18) "The CVS on my corner has started locking up basic items like clothing and detergent. As so many families can’t make ends meet right now, I can’t imagine thinking that the way to solve the problem of people stealing basic necessities out of desperation is to prosecute them." — Cynthia Nixon
19) "This country is a racist transphobic, homophobic, xenophobic, ableist, classist, Islamophobic, misogynistic, dumpster fire. As such, seeing the American flag makes me want to vomit." — Sara Rao

21) "You can be mad but I guess I don’t personally view my car as an extension of myself and I’ve never really felt violated any of the 15 or so times my car was broken into. 24) "The troubled history of air-conditioning suggests not that we chuck it entirely but that we focus on public cooling, on public comfort, rather than individual cooling, on individual comfort. Ensuring that the most vulnerable among the planet’s human inhabitants can keep cool through better access to public cooling centers, shade-giving trees, safe green spaces, water infrastructure to cool, and smart design will not only enrich our cities overall, it will lower the temperature for everyone. It’s far more efficient this way." — From "AC Feels Great, But It’s Terrible for the Planet. Here’s How to Fix That" by Eric Dean Wilson in Time Magazine
25) "Policing in our country is inherently & intentionally racist... No more policing, incarceration, and militarization. It can't be reformed." — Rashida Tlaib
I'm looking for words to describe my reaction to this list of things that liberals say, John. The level of sheer stupidity is remarkable. There's no reasoning with these people. And item 4) "Spare me the bullsh*t about Constitutional rights." — Democratic Congressman David Cicilline is so far out there that I can't believe voters elected him. Any ideas about how we might stem the flow of this idiocy?
Liberals of the leftist variety are hate-ists. That's all there is to it.
