Excellent review of our economic situation, John. I really haven't paid attention to the learned Elizabeth Warren as to why such give-aways as student loan forgiveness would be wise. It can't be because then the people who were saddled with debt would be able to buy more, because they've all scoffed at "supply-side economics" for decades. All I can conclude is, with up to 43 million people potentially applying for this free money windfall, it's a brazen attempt to pull off one of the most bald-faced vote buys in American history! Insane, but that's power-hungry looters for you. Sure, the business will be driven from my neighborhood, but hey, I got my sneakers! Thanks for writing this (sobering) column.
