The Pre-Charlie Kirk Assassination World May Never Be Coming Back
There are two clips we should start this column with. The first is from a popular liberal influencer named Steven ”Destiny” Bonnell. He has very openly called for violence against conservatives on multiple occasions. Yet, he’s still platformed, and has faced few consequences for it. Well, he went even further and made what I think could be fairly called a terroristic threat that he should be jailed over. Not kidding:
“You need conservatives to be afraid of getting killed when they go to events so that they look to their leadership to turn down the temperature. The issue is, right now, they don’t feel like there’s any fear…”
Listen to what this sociopath is actually saying. Basically, it’s, “We need to threaten and murder conservatives until they agree to turn down the temperature.”
Like a lot of things liberals are saying right now, it makes absolutely no logical sense because obviously, the people being threatened and murdered aren’t the ones that need to turn down the temperature.
Along similar lines, liberals will desperately twist the facts to argue that the guy who killed Charlie Kirk couldn’t be a liberal, even though staggering numbers of liberals are openly cheering his death.
They’ll claim that they’re not doing anything to encourage violence, but they’re also arguing that people shouldn’t face any consequences for publicly celebrating a political assassination or calling for more killing.
Despite the fact that enormous numbers of liberals have been openly celebrating a murder committed by a liberal, they will tell you the REAL PROBLEM is conservatives and that liberals don’t need to change anything.
The 2nd clip is from Tim Pool:
In the video, he notes that he probably shouldn’t say it, but he’s invited to Charlie Kirk’s funeral in Arizona and doesn’t feel like it’s safe to go because he gets lots of threats, and they may have lots of security in the building, but what about the airports? What about the hotels? He thinks there’s a possibility that a liberal hyped up by this de facto endorsement of political violence by the Left may try to kill him.
Incidentally, he’s not wrong to feel that way. He absolutely is prominent enough that there are liberals who want to kill him, just like they want other well-known conservatives dead:
Similarly, we’ve seen a number of liberals who have, believe it or not, gone out of their way to trash Charlie Kirk’s memorials or antagonize people holding vigils for him. Others have just openly made threats or called for assassinations. This should be enough to give you the general idea, but there’s lots more:
So, a few observations.
First of all, the excuse-making we’ve heard over the Left’s glee at Charlie Kirk’s death has been disgusting.
“He was an extremist!”
No, he had mainstream conservative beliefs. You can agree with him or disagree with him, but Charlie Kirk wasn’t even close to being a radical.
“He said some over-the-top things that a lot of people disagreed with.”
So what? Tell me somebody in politics on EITHER SIDE that anyone has heard of that doesn’t fit that bill. Just go look at X on either side of the aisle, and “over-the-top things that a lot of people disagree with” will be most of your feed. That’s just the world today, and so, when you cheerlead Charlie Kirk’s death, you’re loudly sending the message that you would cheer EVERY CONSERVATIVE’S death because there’s nothing uniquely awful or deranged about him. He was as mainstream as it gets.
Also, is there something you notice about the people calling for violence? All of the women, especially the last two, look like they’re about 100 pounds soaking wet. Destiny is something like 5’8, 140 pounds, and would probably be about as dangerous as your wheelchair bound grandpa in a fistfight. The black kid couldn’t have defended himself for two seconds if that crowd got angry enough to hurt him, yet he didn’t have the slightest worry about trying to provoke them in that way. I never thought we'd get to the point where the people who need safe spaces and anxiety meds to get through the week would desperately be trying to provoke a violent conflict with the people who go to the shooting range for fun. Yet here we are.
Incidentally, God help us all, they may end up getting their way.
Because don’t kid yourself, the Left’s cheerleading for this murder has brought us much closer to widespread violence than most people realize. Keep in mind that the cartels, Iran, China, Russia, and our other enemies in the world are watching what’s happening here and thinking, “Wow, this could be our chance to get the Americans fighting each other. We pay off one guy to kill another guy, plant a little evidence, and we could practically start a civil war.” Of course, we could also see one of our own citizens decide to kill the other side. After all, we just saw exactly that with Charlie Kirk.
And unlike conservatives, liberals tend to have the emotional maturity level of small children. If someone kills a popular, prominent liberal, we could see widespread “we’re going to have to kill-or-be-killed” violence start immediately from that.
On the other hand, if liberals believe they’re going to be able to intimidate conservatives into subservience, they really don’t understand the people they’re dealing with. Granted, the level of conservative restraint since Charlie Kirk was murdered by a liberal has practically been super-human, but if the violence and threatening behavior from the Left continues to escalate, at some point, the conclusion will inevitably be, “The only thing liberals understand is violence, and we have no choice other than to kill these people to protect ourselves.”
Also, a little warning for the Left if it comes to that.
Did you notice that liberals started cancel culture, but that when conservatives went all in on it and started working to get people fired, they were orders of magnitude better at it than liberals? Well, violence would be like that, too. If the switch ever gets flipped and conservatives ever decide it’s “us or them,” I suspect it’s going to be “them” by an awful lot of bodies.
As a conservative who loves his country and created this Substack in part to warn people about this specific issue, I don’t ever want to see that happen because it would be horrific for everyone, but the cavalier attitude so many liberals seem to have about all of this is out of touch with the gravity of this whole situation.
Most people reading this have probably seen this quote:
In other words, conservatives looked at their liberal neighbors down the street, sighed, and thought, “God help them because they’re misguided and don’t have a lot of common sense.”
After millions of liberals had a joyous public celebration because one of their number murdered a conservative in front of his children, many of those same conservatives are looking at those same liberal neighbors and thinking, “I bet they’d probably celebrate if I were murdered.”
It really is possible that this could be fixed over time if there’s a big enough cultural shift, but it’s just as possible that political violence will ramp up, get out of control, and turn into a regular occurrence that threatens to engulf the whole country. That would be a tragedy and something no one should want to see, but it is a real possibility, and no politicians saying, “We need to have unity,” is going to fix it.
So, if you’re conservative, understand the reality of the danger liberals have put all of us in. While you’re waiting to see which way it plays out, most importantly, keep your powder dry and pray. But also make sure you get prepared to protect your family. If we get to the point where things get really nasty, it may be much harder to do. Last but not least, when you get the chance, vote like your life depends on it, because it very well may.

"Last but not least, when you get the chance, vote like your life depends on it, because it very well may." We've said this before, but it was never more true than it is now.
You are exactly right, it doesn’t matter if the assassin was more nuanced in his politics than being a pure liberal. Most of the rising backlash against the left is about the gleeful celebration. If both sides had been mournful, guy who was just crazy could be an explanation, but not with the celebration and attacks on vigils.
