But it spreads when the legally constituted authorities, for political reasons, choose to not put a stop to it or worse, encourage it. That's when push back, by somebody who will use logic and morality, must and should occur. Trump was right to send the Marines to L.A., where cretins like Bass and Newsome refuse to act responsibly.
Not to ignore the point of your excellent piece but this stopped me in my tracks: "Nearly half of college students in America view the accused murderer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson favorably." Where have we parents gone so badly wrong?
It's even worse than it sounds because realistically, almost none of those people knew who Brian Thompson was or knew anything about UnitedHealthcare. All they knew was that it was trendy on the Left to support the guy that murdered him. That's how morally bankrupt they've become.
i think u miss the point. they read he was left with permanent damage from what he felt was a botched surgery that UHC held up approval for an excessive amount of time. So if this is true he is left with lifelong consequences. I was very surprised by the responses to some comments I made at the time by many who said they had been put in a similar situation by the corp practices of UHC which brian thompson was hired to the tune of 10 million a year to create. Mr. Hawkins says he was not a. policy holder of UHC all other sources i have read consistently since the murder have said he was. Thompson was apparently an immoral man but I don't think the. penalty for his depredations should be execution. at the point a company is viewed with such hostility that their executives need to hire protection it is time to start reviewing practices. there is absolutely no justification for UHC to be paying 10 million a year nor to be trading on stock exchanges. People are just getting infuriated hearing these things.
"Luigi Mangione wasn’t insured by UnitedHealthcare, the company says
UnitedHealthcare’s parent company said it has no record that Mangione, the suspect in its CEO’s shooting, was ever a client. Police are still investigating a motive in the killing."
ok thanks so all of a sudden you sir are trusting MSNBC as a source. I cannot believe this. May be accurate I will find the reputable sources that contradict this and link. MSNBC I feel ill
I used MSNBC because they're liberal and more likely to sympathetic to Mangione, but this isn't in dispute. You will not find reputable sources that contradict this because all the reputable sources agree on this.
"Luigi Mangione wasn't a UnitedHealthcare member, may have targeted company because of size and influence: NYPD" -- FoxBusiness
"UnitedHealthcare Says Suspected Shooter Luigi Mangione Was Not Insured By Company" -- Forbes
"UnitedHealthcare has said Mangione was not a client." -- Newsmax
i don't read any but reputable sources. I do not trust any of the sources you list above aside from newsmax and I can think of a billion reasons why UHC would deny he was. It is not as if it can be fact checked by any outside source. I will try and pull it out of my memory palace john if able will get back to you. It might have been a contributor on frontpage or unz review (which I read with a very discerning eye) close to the event but this definitely was the story right after the murder and it was absolutely reported on several different sites. if walter cronkite can go on national network news in its heyday and lie his ass off about vietnam this is insignificant. they are desperate to convict and aware that public sentiment is very much sympathetic to this man. the press routinely lies about anything unfavorable to the medical business especially pharma. this is not something I would fantasize about and I took allot of hostility from people when i first remarked about this case as I had no idea that policies of denying claims was as widespread as it is. thanks for response
he says he was and the narrative about the back injury was immediately made public after this murder. i can think of about one million reasons why UHC would make the statement they were not his insurer and if all sources cited by you base their reports on what the company claims what does that prove ? i certainly would try that narrative. I suppose if he was his team will be issuing subpoena to clarify this at trial. Since i posted this i had occasion to go to quest labs for a draw. the techs working there began talking about this case. I was shocked at the level of support this man was given. All seemed to think he was justified but they deal with sick relatively poor people in the site I use so guess not much surprise in that
"First of all, it would dramatically reduce the number of people trying to illegally enter the United States. This would be good for the people of the United States.
Second, believe it or not, it would actually SAVE THE LIVES of a lot of illegals. We have to keep in mind that crossing into the United States is an inherently dangerous activity. It often involves moving through remote desert landscapes or has people crossing rivers where they can drown. There are always criminals involved. This is why around 400-500 people die per year trying to enter the United States illegally. If shooting 40-50 people frightened illegals so much that they stopped coming, it could save hundreds of lives every year.
Last but not least, if shooting a relatively small number of illegals stopped them from coming here, it would mean far fewer Americans would be raped, robbed, and murdered, and wouldn’t that alone be worth it? "
I'm exactly in that same place today I was then. Our borders are worth defending.
Nick Shirley, a young investigative reporter, posted a video a few days ago covering the cleanup effort by Trump in Washington D.C.
Some national guardsmen were arresting a drug dealer carrying huge wads of cash and baggies of drugs when a completely unhinged woman with a bullhorn appeared and started screaming all kinds of filth at them about fascism and how they were nazi thugs for arresting the “homeless.”
She followed them as they made their way down the street, passing by actual homeless people who weren’t causing problems, screaming at the top of her lungs the whole time.
When she finally took a breath, Nick asked her if she was glad that a drug dealer had been arrested and pointed out that they weren’t bothering or arresting the homeless en masse, she smugly replied, “That’s because I chased them off.”
It was such a stark example of a totally broken understanding of cause and effect that left her feeling justified.
It seems like they should’ve arrested her for breaking the peace and many of the homeless folks were complaining that they had been woken up by her nonsense, but the guardsmen just ignored her.
Well said, John. I would make one point. You write “They don’t understand morality. They don’t understand right and wrong.”
The problem is that in their twisted minds it is moral to riot when you don’t get your way and they actually believe that what they are doing and supporting is right. Further evidence that this strand of ill-liberal progressivism is a mental illness.
Indisputably true. The Left absolutely has a broken moral compass, and it's not hard to see the correlation between progressive philosophy and the rejection of Christianity and Biblical Truth. They redefine right and wrong based on how they feel about something. And what could be more ludicrous than that? The Bible in Jeremiah 17:9 says: "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure." Wherever progressives control, these sort of misguided and violent protests are not only allowed but encouraged. I'm not threatening anyone by saying that that sort of thing won't happen where I live, because I am a 2d amendment guy with lots of like minded friends all around me. I'd predict that about a minute after the first match was dropped by violent agitators, ball bats would be swinging and safeties would be switching off. The only function National Guard would have would be dragging those bloodied antifa-style idiots out of (further) harm's way. Peaceful protests? No problem. But like Trump said, this is not the third world where we tolerate insurrection and deliberate destruction, and if local leftist pols decide to unleash these cretins, it will be up to the citizens to defend themselves and their neighborhoods. The morons who live in places like Los Angeles and NYC might not agree with that, but ef 'em. Thanks for posting this timely piece, John.
A list of mayhem and violence perpetrated by Liberals and their henchmen. If this doesn't wake up conservative-minded people in authority, I can't imagine what can. "So, restore order using as little force as possible, but as much force as needed. If that’s not done, the Left continue to keep pushing the violence to higher and higher levels until they’re checked. So, check them now." Another solution from you that would take care of one of our nation's ills. Who knows, we might just save America before it's too late.
"... Over the next few weeks, scores of riots are planned to break out across America. They are funded by all the usual communist suspects, from Barack Obama and George Soros' Open Society, Triangle Alliance, the Chinese Communist Party and an array of many others that are focused on our republic with ill intent, and most of them will occur in Democrat controlled urban areas to maximize the effect, as their law enforcement will be commanded to stand down, which will induce President Trump to send in the military. The commies hope to use this moment as a rallying cry across the nation to intensify their attacks against the republic and weaken it as much as possible -- hopefully, in their eyes -- to actually ultimately bring about its fall. ..."
Liberals are not the problem. The Left is the problem. The Left has never been liberal. It’s a pity that so many liberals identify with the Left. It’s also a pity that Ronald Reagan didn’t distinguish between the two.
every single source i have read on Mangione has said clearly he was a policy holder from UHC and that he needed back surgery and that UHC held up approval for an extended period of time. When they finally gave approval he was not able to use the surgeon he wanted I assume due to the doctor not taking his insurance. According to all sources he claims the surgery left him in pain which has not resolved. He was a long time in disputes with UHC so I assume he became familiar with the identity of brian thompson. I was shocked reading that thompon's salary was 10 million a year presumably with added benefits. this is an outrage. Health insurance companies should not be public trading on the street and additionally thompson was under investigation for insider trading attempting to use info he had access to dump 30 million in stocks. As far as I am concerned thompson was a moral monster and the american public is getting sick and tired of these vultures. the kid should not have shot him but little chance anyone was going to do anything about these rapacious practices. If this is incorrect info i would appreciate someone correcting it. I think it speaks for itself that these. people appear to all run with protection.
Oh sure Barry attended his "America's chickens, coming home to roost!" church for almost 20 years, but he wasn't really listening, right? At least that's how he explained/excused it anyway, and a majority of Americans accepted that lie, hook, line and stinker.
Violence begins where logic and morality end.
But it spreads when the legally constituted authorities, for political reasons, choose to not put a stop to it or worse, encourage it. Correct on all counts sir!
Left out the BLM riots in San Francisco and Portland, both of which have yet to recover.

Similar to your suggestion about how to solve the open border crisis a couple years ago—shoot ten of them in the head. It ends.

Jeremiah Wright. Mr. "God d*** America." He was also tight with Obama.

Reverend Wright? Obama’s “pastor”?
