Have you ever seen that old reality show, Intervention? It was admittedly fascinating because it would almost inevitably show some young man or woman who had gotten so swallowed up by their addiction that they turned into a monster. Their family, being their family, loves them, wants them to succeed, and tries to bridge the gap between the sweet girl who used to be a straight-A student or a respectful young man, and the lunatic they’re now dealing with who gets in trouble with the law, steals their things to sell them for drugs and generally turns every interaction into a potential nightmare.
What the show did was bring in an expert who got everyone who cared about that person together to essentially say, “You know we care about you and want you to succeed, but for your sake and ours, this can’t continue. Either you’ve got to get help or we’re going to cut you off. We want you to get help and stay in our lives, but it’s your choice.”
In other words, even when you are a good person who cares about another human being, there are limits to the sort of behavior you can accept from them. A relationship based on gaslighting, mistreatment, and abuse should not be tolerated.
Well, guess what?
America is in a very similar spot with illegal aliens. Our home has been abused; our goodwill has been taken advantage of; our intelligence has been insulted; and our generosity has been thrown back in our face.
As a starting point, telling people to enter America legally is not a big ask. It’s the bare minimum. It’s one thing if someone invites you into their house, but it’s another entirely if a stranger just walks in when you’re not looking and makes themselves at home. That’s an egregious abuse of trust that requires you to protect the sanctity of your homes.
Why shouldn’t we apply that same standard to the people who cross our borders illegally?
Of course, with illegal immigration, the abuse doesn’t end there. Many of them steal social security numbers that are already used by Americans. They get fraudulent documents. They don’t bother to get car insurance or health insurance, so if they have an accident or get sick, they’re going to run off and stick Americans with the bill. They’re using our schools, our roads, and ending up in our jails.
Do some of them pay taxes? Sure. Do some of them lie on their taxes and get huge tax rebates via the earned income tax credit? Sure. Are some of them nice, hard working people? Sure. Are some of them gang members, murderers, robbers and rapists? Sure.
Part of having a country is supposed to be deciding who gets the privilege of entering your country and who doesn’t. What is it called when a country has no control over who crosses its borders and who doesn’t?
It’s called an invasion and in parts of our country, the invaders are being given welfare, free housing, driver’s licenses, voting rights in local elections, and even special privileges under the law. If you’re an illegal alien who gets caught by the police BREAKING THE LAW in a sanctuary city, leftists won’t call ICE to deport you when you’re released. They want illegal aliens here so much, they’re fighting to keep rapists, murderers, and child molesters in their communities as long as they’re illegal aliens. It’s madness.
Of course, it’s not just the illegals, it’s their apologists who’ve done everything they can to open our borders, hinder law enforcement in every way possible, and encourage illegal aliens to come here.
Why?
Some of them are criminal enterprises that love the idea of bringing cheap foreign labor into America and passing the costs on to everyone else. Some of them are also NGOs that are selling out their own country for 40 pieces of government silver. However, MOST OF THEM, are liberals who love the idea of bringing in a poor, uneducated, manual labor force to clean their toilets and manicure their lawns until they can find a way to turn them into American citizens who will vote for Democrats in return for getting generous welfare and disability payments.
Nobody who loves America wants to import poverty here. Nobody who cares about our country wants to load it up with millions of uneducated foreigners whose first act on American soil was breaking our laws. It’s disgraceful, it’s disgusting, and it’s disloyal to our country.
Yet and still, we hear every excuse in the book about why we can’t enforce the laws even though they make obvious sense. If a criminal breaks into your house, the very beginning of justice is not to let him STAY IN YOUR HOUSE. If an illegal alien enters America, there should never be a question about whether they get to benefit from their lawbreaking by getting to stay here.
Oh, but what if they need, “sanctuary?” Even if that wasn’t almost always a bullsh*t claim that has been used to game our immigration laws both by illegals and liberals, anyone who enters our country illegally to ask for “sanctuary” should obviously have it denied to them by default. If you enter our country illegally, why should we give you sanctuary here? We shouldn’t, because if you enter our country illegally, you don’t DESERVE to have our protection.
The excuses for why we shouldn’t obey the law never end. “Well, they haven’t broken the law here,” you know as long as you ignore the fact they broke the law to get here and committed document fraud to obtain a job. “They were young when they came here,” as if young people don’t have to obey the law. “You can’t separate illegal parents and the American children they had here to try to anchor them in this country.” Even setting aside the fact that families are split up constantly when one of the members of that family commits a crime, they can feel free to take their American kids back to their homeland with them when they get deported. We’re not trying to prevent that from happening. “But, what if they’ve been here for a long time?” Is that how it works? Well, you evaded the police for a long time after you robbed that bank, so I guess we should let you get away with it. No, it doesn’t work that way at all.
What it all comes down to is that a line in the sand needs to be drawn. No more lies. No more excuses. No more trying to take advantage of the American people. If you are not here legally, get out. Leave. This isn’t your country. You literally don’t belong here – and the rest of the details don’t matter at all. All that matters is if you’re here illegally, you need to leave on your own or we need to make your life miserable, hunt you down, and deport you out of our country one way or another. That’s nothing more than law and order. It’s JUSTICE.
If you think it’s “cruel,” or “mean,” it’s because illegal aliens have been allowed to break the law with impunity for way too long, no matter who got hurt in the process, or whether it was good for America or not. Well, it’s time for some “tough love” on this subject, with emphasis on the “tough” part. If you’re not here legally, your excuse doesn’t matter, just get out.
What drives me crazy is when the same people who support endless immigration at at the lowest income levels turn around and complain that "the poor" aren't making any progress (and then go on about Gini coefficients, etc).
"Why are there a million poor people when Jeff Bezo has a yacht?"
"Well, you did just import a million poor people, so there is that"
Bravo! No apologies! Another shareable post, John. And if a "but..." is heard from any corner, we'll know it's a liberal trying to justify breaking the law.
