Have you ever seen that old reality show, Intervention? It was admittedly fascinating because it would almost inevitably show some young man or woman who had gotten so swallowed up by their addiction that they turned into a monster. Their family, being their family, loves them, wants them to succeed, and tries to bridge the gap between the sweet girl who used to be a straight-A student or a respectful young man, and the lunatic they’re now dealing with who gets in trouble with the law, steals their things to sell them for drugs and generally turns every interaction into a potential nightmare.
What drives me crazy is when the same people who support endless immigration at at the lowest income levels turn around and complain that "the poor" aren't making any progress (and then go on about Gini coefficients, etc).
"Why are there a million poor people when Jeff Bezo has a yacht?"
"Well, you did just import a million poor people, so there is that"

A couple of months ago I was at a local urgent care facility. Next to me was a Hispanic family. The desk clerk stated they had an outstanding bill and asked if they wanted to pay on that today. The response was 'no they could not'. When the clerk stated they couldn't see the doctor without paying they suddenly recalled they had cash with them. How much? Enough that they had to go to the gas station to get the large bills broken into smaller denominations. This is why your costs and wait times are going up.
Illegals essentially get free medical care because they can't be turned away and they don't pay. So, how do they pay for it? They raise the bill for the rest of us to cover it.
Absolutely, no doubt about this. But when do the rational citizens of this country get to confront the real problem, which is/are the traitorous fools who aid and abbett these lawbreakers? That's what frustrates me, the fact that Democrats/progressives knowingly invite and allow non-citizens to break our nation's laws, then obstruct the lawful authorities who are eventually tasked with deporting those illegal aliens, and repeat, over and over, without consequence. Look at a fool like Brandon Johnson who cries that Chicago can't pay its bills, yet refuses to cooperate with ICE in moving out the crowd that is busting the budget. It's infuriating in its lawlessness and stupidity.
