Liberals, Have You Ever Considered That the Problem Isn’t America, It’s You?

It’s never fun to have your side lose a presidential election. You go through the primaries, you hear about it every day for months or even a year if you’re into politics, and then the big day comes. You feel invested. You really want to win, but still, you win some and you lose some.

Well happily, for the majority of the country anyway, it was the Democrats’ turn to lose one this time. Donald Trump beat Kamala Harris not just in the electoral college, but in the popular vote.

As you can imagine, many Democrats haven’t taken that news well… which is okay, to a degree at least. Let’s face it, you shouldn’t be skipping classes, going to a therapist, or crying all day because a political candidate who couldn’t care less if you live or die lost, but it is what it is.

What I wanted to talk about is a very unfortunate pattern Democrats have fallen into over the last few election cycles when they lose. After they fall short, they take a few days and they always seem to come to the same two conclusions. Those being, “We lost because we weren’t liberal enough” and “We lost because the American people are fascists, Nazis, bigots, misogynists and generally rotten human beings.”

As a starting point, the “not liberal enough” one is particularly hilarious because Democrats moved wildly to the Left after Obama was elected. Not so long ago, Democrats were against gay marriage, didn’t want men playing women’s sports, weren’t in favor of drag queens reading to kids, liked free speech, and talked a lot about having secure borders and making abortion “safe, legal, and rare” even if they didn’t really believe it.

It’s also worth noting that people like Elon Musk, who voted for Joe Biden in 2020 and Joe Rogan, who was a Bernie Bro in 2020, along with people like Tulsi Gabbard & Robert F. Kennedy Jr. FEEL LIKE they’ve been shoved out of the Democrat Party because it has moved so far to the Left. That’s not me saying it, they’d all tell you that. Elon Musk even put up this much-discussed cartoon on Twitter talking about it.

Additionally, Kamala Harris was rated by some people as the, “second-most liberal Democratic senator to serve in the Senate in the 21st century.” Yes, she did campaign with Liz Cheney, talk about having a (undoubtedly squishy) Republican in her cabinet, and tried to hide some of her views, but that’s because they’re unpopular. She didn’t become less liberal, she just looked at poll numbers and saw that large swaths of the country didn’t want radical liberalism and then told very obvious lies about what she believed.

In a sense, Obama kind of created that roadmap for the Left. He told every lie under the sun to sell Obamacare, but once it was in place, the attitude was, “You suckers believed me and now it’s too late for you to do anything about it.” All politicians lie sometimes, but that was extremely dishonorable and there are consequences to doing that. If people know you’ll say anything today and just do what you want later, they won’t trust you. They shouldn’t trust you. So, the idea that the Democrats were offering up anything other than radical liberalism is silly. Everyone knew Kamala Harris was lying about much of what she wanted to do and would go way off to the Left, just as she promised Democrats she would during her 2020 presidential run, if she was elected.

Yet and still, getting beyond that, liberals have started to become engaged in another very circular form of thinking that goes like so, “Liberals are the good guys, and whatever we do is good by default. The only reason anyone could oppose us is because they’re bad people. If they oppose us, they must be racist, sexist, bigots, fascists, Nazis, evil people, or maybe all of those, otherwise, they wouldn’t oppose us.

Let me suggest an alternate theory. Liberals have become extremely radical and mean-spirited. They have also started pushing scary policies that don’t benefit much of the country. This led to them losing this election.

You don’t agree? You don’t know why people would oppose liberalism if they’re not evil? Well, let me suggest a few prominent reasons – and keep in mind, this is far from an exhaustive list.

* Because of the massive amount of money the Fed printed and the government has been spending, inflation has exploded. People are paying a lot more for groceries. In some places, the cost of rent has gone through the roof. Here in Myrtle Beach, rent has gone up something like 40-50% just since COVID hit. Now combine that with the fact that the cost of EVERYTHING else has gone up considerably and people are hurting. There are a lot of Americans probably thinking, “If things go up as much over the next four years as they did the last four years, I don’t know how my family is going to pay its bills.” That’s a desperate situation for people to be in and yes, Democrats were in charge while that happened.

* What Biden and Kamala have done on the border is radical, dangerous, and nothing less than an attempt to deliberately change America’s demographics. They methodically removed the reforms Trump put in place to control the border, sued Texas for actually trying to enforce the law, and shipped illegals all over the country. Just look at this chart, which incidentally, is the one Trump was turning to look at when he was shot.  

To a large swath of America that wants the border secured and no illegal aliens allowed in, this looks like MADNESS. Pure INSANITY – and no, the bill the Democrats came up with that would have given many illegals citizenship and allowed millions more to cross each year wasn’t the solution. Trump had the border under control. Kamala, Biden, and the Democrats clearly don’t want it under control and that’s DANGEROUS to our country.

* There are a lot of parents who are alarmed by the fact so many schools are pushing weird ideas about gender on their kids, sending mentally ill boys dressed like girls into the locker rooms with their daughters, and even, in some places, trying to take kids away from their parents who won’t agree that their underage child should be allowed to transition.

Again, to a lot of Americans, this seems like MADNESS. The idea that a man should be competing in a sporting event with a woman, staying in a battered woman’s shelter or sent to a women’s prison is CRAZY. Drag queen story hours? It’s nuts. Giving kids graphic gay porn in schools? It is lunacy. There are now a lot of parents who have to be worried that the public schools are trying to indoctrinate their children into being trans or gay – and there’s a lot of support on the Left for NOT TELLING PARENTS WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THEIR KIDS. When you target people’s children, they don’t take it well.

* Granted, most conservatives aren’t impacted by the out-of-control crime in liberal cities, but it’s still alarming to know so many liberals are okay with letting ANTIFA break the law at will and allowing bums to crap on the street. Liberals allow the homeless to set up tent cities on the sidewalks, use drugs openly and liberal DAs bend over backward not to punish criminals for breaking the law. There were over 500 riots in 2020 that liberal politicians DELIBERATELY ALLOWED to happen all over the country. Daniel Penny, who is a hero, is on trial in NYC for defending people in his subway car against a guy with 42 prior arrests and an active warrant. The rest of the country wants no part of the lawless environment liberals seem to crave and they worry it’s going to spread to where they live.

* We could debate the merit of some of the cases against Donald Trump, but everything aimed at him out of NYC was clearly nothing other than politically motivated lawfare. Tulsi Gabbard was put on the “no-fly” list, which was obviously politically motivated. Meanwhile, the liberal-dominated mainstream media slants every story against conservatives and there’s a full-court press being conducted to censor us on every social network except X.com, where thank God, Elon Musk stepped up and supported free speech. As a reward for that, many liberals have called for taking any government contracts he has, jailing him or even deporting him. Increasingly, liberals seem to feel comfortable using the power of government and the legal system against conservatives along with censoring us. Why would we be okay with that? Why would we just shrug our shoulders and accept that’s the way it is?

* Men have particularly turned on the Democratic Party because it has become hostile to us. Maybe it’s not if you’re gay. Maybe it’s not if you’re a feminine man. But, particularly if you’re a straight, white, masculine man, Democrats treat you like a pariah and believe it’s okay to discriminate against you. You are the imaginary bad guy who’s keeping black people down, women down, and who generally needs to be replaced. Well, why would you vote for that? If you’re just a regular guy, why would you want people who feel that way about you in charge of anything?

Of course, we could go on. Lots of other conservatives are anti-abortion diehards, deeply concerned about the Democratic desire to get rid of the filibuster and stack the Supreme Court, desperately want more conservative justices on the court, are afraid the Democrats are going to try to confiscate their guns, are worried about the crazy level of spending Democrats engage in and are concerned about what seems like unnecessary wars in places like Ukraine.

If you’re liberal, particularly if you’re a liberal in an extremely liberal area, you may not have any of these same concerns – but other people across the country do and they’re real and legitimate. They’re also not secrets.

Americans have been openly talking about them all the time, at length, even if Rachel Maddow and Joy Reid dismiss these issues and chalk all of it off as cover for fascism. In fact, there’s not one issue talked about in this column that most conservatives couldn’t have told you about a year or two ago.

Americans didn’t vote against Democrats because we’re evil people, we voted against Democrats because you don’t care about the issues we do, you’re dismissive of our concerns and you’ve gotten so radical and toxic that you scare the hell out of a lot of people. Maybe you should actually consider that instead of just deciding that the real problem is half the country is evil.
