Nice essay; right on point. The producer's insistence that the movie be embraced by a large straight audience is a continuation of the push beyond tolerance/acceptance to demanding outright celebration, or else- you get called "homophobe!" As a Christian conservative, I can't embrace this notion, and if they want to call me that name, so be it. When I hear Freddy Mercury of Queen, (and George Michael of WAM), I think wow these guys were so talented; what a shame that they died so young, but there are consequences to engaging in sinful behavior (of all sorts). Not my cup of tea; even though I like Jake Gyllenhaal, (especially his role as Captain Colter Stevens in "Source Code"), I have no interest in ever seeing him in "Brokeback Mountain." I am wired to enjoy seeing women as being sexy, and I'll watch any Lynda Carter, Linda Blair, or Farah Fawcett television show or movie with admiration and adoration, but I'll take a hard pass on watching some dude shaking his ass, with no apologies.

This year 2022 over 20 million immigrates came across the border so far, overwhelmingly these people are Catholics, I know my church went from about 100 members to over 400 in two years, every previous year there was about a million a year so I would say this guy's movies will see less and less of an audience as time goes on
