Very interesting perspective. Makes me realize I'm way too naive. I don't follow celebrities or social media. I hang out a lot on Substack and subscribe to many writers whose topics interest me and whose opinions I respect and admire, and 😂😂 I 9 times out of 10 agree with. I've never thought of any of them as a brand. 🤔

I don't think everybody in politics and entertainment is a brand. In fact, I think people like that used to be the cartoonish exceptions (Morton Downey Jr., "Ed Anger,"), but I think among the newer people getting into it, when there's orders of magnitude more competition and money involved and people are much more insistent on being told what they want to hear, it's much more common.
