Creating useless Americans hasn’t always been easy. After all, for most of America’s history, the church was strong, kids were expected to do some work and there was no welfare. The attitude wasn’t quite, “If you don’t work, enjoy starving to death because that’s what you deserve,” but there was definitely a little of that vibe going around. Americans outfought everyone from the Indians to the Mexicans to the British to conquer America, made it through the Depression, won two world wars, and built a reputation as an independent, self-reliant, religious, gun-totin’, hard-working, patriotic people.
You really summed up the situation, John. All this because (almost) none of us had the wisdom and courage to stand up and say "enough." I kept my own nose to the grindstone and opinions to myself, and did not bother to have kids or educate others about American history and Biblical principles, and now I just lament what has gone away and console myself, crossing-my-fingers-hopefully, that I will be gone before it all implodes. What's sad is that it's always been just a matter of allowing really dumb, probably demonically possesed people, to lead us around, instead of confronting them about their foolish actions and the consequences of doing things their "enlightened, empowering, progressive way." Try watching PBS for a couple of hours and see how wrong headed progressives really are.
