The progressive liberals are blaming Trump and other conservatives of things that the progressive liberals are promoting to be used against the conservatives.
The No Kings protest pushed the narrative that Trump was actively working towards becoming a dictator.
The Federal response to the attacks on ICE agents doing their jobs in Minnesota gave Trump the perfect opportunity to respond with near dictator powers by invoking the insurrection act. Declaring an insurrection is immune to judicial review. Then he could have federalized the Minnesota National Guard and ordered them to stand down when Waltz called them up in an attempt to stop the ICE enforcement actions. That is how JFK handled the many southern states that refused to integrate their schools. When the Governor called up the National Guard to prevent blacks from entering white schools, JFK nationalized the National Guard and ordered them to stand down from enforcing the directives of the Governor. Then other federal officers were sent to prevent the state from interfering with the desegregation process.
With a declaration of an insurrection in response to the riots, Trump could have suspended Habeas Corpus and arrested the rioters and held them in custody until the insurrection was declared to be over.
Trump took the hard road and worked within our Constitutional process even though he lost some rulings and encountered many roadblocks from the progressives. Trump missed the perfect opportunity to become the dictator the progressives tell us he is.
The progressives though are the one advocating for one party rule with the democrats in control and enforcing their mandates with concentration camps, loss of personal rights, and even death towards those that oppose them. The conservatives are the ones fighting to maintain our Constitutional Republic. The progressives want to eliminate it and take total control. That is how the Nazis came into power.
Our Founding Fathers made it clear, when the government becomes tyrannical, the people have the Right to take up arms to oust the government and replace it with one that respect the Rights of the People.
Today, we call this a civil war. The Conservatives are still operating inside out system and not advocating taking away rights from progressives. My question is, at what point is the red line crossed and we take up arms to stop the dems from enforcing their will on everyone?
That is the point when we will have to use violence to stop the progressives from using violence against us. At that point, we will need to do what the progressives are advocating now, treat their political opponents as the enemy to be destroyed so we can have the political system we want.
Personally, I believe we are close to point when we will need to take up arms to stop the progressives from
Right now, conservatives are not promoting the death of their opponents. Most see this as normal political rhetoric that we tolerate because of the sacred right of free speech. If we wait until it is too late, then the US will cease to exist as a Constitutional Republic that values the rights of all and become the next dictatorship that harshly suppresses all dissent.
Take up arms too soon, and we become the same as the progressives, using force as a means to the end of the complete elimination of our political enemies.r
On a personal level, at what point do I transition from working within the system peaceably to actively working towards the death of my political opponents.
Today, I doubt there will be enough willing to make the great sacrifices previous generations made to defend our Republic. We will go the way of every great civilization in history, everything that they ever built will be destroyed and forgotten.
TRVTH. So sad, yet so true. I think that when you turn away from God, you destroy the link to Truth, and you just make s*it up and if it gives you an excuse to act irresponsibly, so much the better. This insane cancer spreads/metastasizes and will kill the body. "Coexist" is one of their bumper stickers, yet it's such BS. Just look at the birth rate and ask how is that working for ya? Fine if you hate America and want it destroyed or "taken down a peg," Thanks for posting this column, John.
My father just passed away. He was 88. For 40 years he was homeless in Hawaii. He got hit with paranoia and mild schizophrenia in his late 20s and we did not hear from him for most of those years after the divorce. He spoke six languages, but donned headphones to help calm the voices in his head. From his perspective, he was fine but everyone else was crazy... and out to get him. He was convinced that some people could read his mind and force him to do things he did not want to do.
My father was conservative in his political orientation, but his behavior reminded me of what we are seeing from liberal these days. They have clearly gone, what appears to be, insane, but like my father, it is those that disagree with them that are mentally unwell.
Although I agree that modern Democrat behavior manifests as insanity, and certainly some of it is, but what we are mostly experiencing with Democrats, I think, is more accurately described as childishness combined with the standard dysregulated emotions of the female entity.
There is another angle to look at this... and I think it comes down to personality type filtering. Before, your politics were shaped by the exposure to your parents and family. That would get challenged in education, but generally when people launched into the private economy and paid taxes, got married and had children, most of them would revert back to the lessons from their parents. This is the process of "adulting", and it always had a patricidal twist as people would move to the front-line of a market economy to do battle competing for prosperity and status.
The front-line competition for prosperity and status today has been replaced by female tendencies and behaviors and rewards... none of it at the front-line and none of it accountable, nor productive.
Thank Madison Avenue and our giant corporatocracy for much of that, as females make the more reliable consumer and are more susceptible to influence to "buy this", "support this", "oppose this"... for things that convey luxury beliefs and high status.
Globalization, including reduced industrialization replaced by paper-pushing service-sector and information jobs, has changed private market economy career paths... especially for men. Mass immigration has added to that change. Men unable to provide for the family have been displaced by their wives as head of household thus extending matriarchal control and diminishing the role of the husband and father. During the same time, and possibly as a result of the former, we sent more people to get expensive college degrees (where their commonsense parental values are challenged). And all of it got feminized. Social media has resulted in a sort of new secondary parental influencer that has caused more personality type collecting into ideological groupthink tribal supersets. This has resulted in a significant deficit in the process of adulting.
True adult behavior is much more masculine and patriarchal. Females, because of their nature built from centuries of gender-specific evolutionary biology, are more attuned to children and their childish behaviors. They have always been second-string players in the affairs of socioeconomic leadership and governance for a very good reason that they are not up to the task given their nature.
We know people in our family and friend network that seem to never really grow up. Their childish impulses follow them to the grave. They cannot control nor compartmentalize their emotional impulses. They feel more strongly and it overwhelms other rational considerations that true adults learn how to process. It is a personality type. But a personality type can and should change over a person's life. For example, I was always an introvert but had to learn how to put myself out there to be successful in my career. I now test as more E than I.
Liberals have always been this way, but historically a percentage of them would grow up from their life experience. The shift to our system becoming insane, I think, is simply explained by the demographic realities of a greater number of people failing to develop into adult, and they have acquired advanced degrees and certifications and credentials, and the economy has been remade to give them different career paths that prevent patriarchal life lessons... and too much of it is female dominated.
Frankly, the only hope we have to course correct is the Trump Bessent, Ludnick, Vance National Industrial Policy and end to the US-funded global order. Renewing our market-based economy that is driven by a more patriarchal leadership structure for making, building, growing, fixing and selling real tangible products. Fixing the education system from being a hive of feminist indoctrination. Cutting the size of government and reeling in the out-of-control non-profit/NGO industry. Getting men back to socioeconomic dominance.
Low-T males like Krugman will always exist, but he is only a danger because he is flanked by millions of feminized, infantile people like himself. We need a shift from this failed attempt to drag us into a dystopian matriarchal collectivist system back to one ruled by real men.
“They have clearly gone, what appears to be, insane, but like my father, it is those that disagree with them that are mentally unwell.” There is so much of that on the Left and the ones that can see it, they immediately hate and try to push out of the party. As if they can see it’s true subconsciously, but can’t live with the cognitive dissonance of believing they’re the good guys when they’re behaving so badly.
I don't think they can see it. I think are defective in that they have not developed to the adult point of having true emotional intelligence. Their lives have largely lacked consequences for their lack of emotional control. So they have settled on their cognitive process as being normal and right.
A good example is my liberal college town city council making decisions to appease the upset liberal population even though it completely lacks fiscal viability. That same community keeps voting down peripheral development. The people are emotionally upset about change and block it... even though housing costs (the town has a growing university) keep exploding and causing massive financial pain to more and more people.
You cannot argue facts with these people because they are stuck on how they feel, and how they feel takes precedent. That is a childish behavior. Adulting means we learn how to accept the pain of decisions that are right.
I have lived in liberal college towns. They want protect the "quality of life" and then complain when housing prices skyrocket because new housing developments are opposed by the same liberal elites. Then they want to make housing more affordable through rent control and other policies that result in even higher housing costs.
It is supply and demand. The only real way to reduce housing costs is to increase the supply by building more.
