We’re Not Dying to Protect the Left’s Right to Call for Murdering Us
There’s a meme out there that does a beautiful job of describing how left-wing atheists try to use Christianity against Christians:
If you look at the liberal approach to free speech, you will see a very similar dynamic.
As a starting point, most liberals do not believe in free speech in any meaningful sense. That probably has a lot to do with the fact that their ideas don’t work very well. There’s a reason there’s no liberal version of Charlie Kirk, and that’s because they have a great deal of trouble defending what they believe in during an open, honest debate.
This is also why the Biden administration encouraged social media sites to censor opinions they disagreed with during COVID, including many opinions that have since been proven right. It’s why places like Reddit have created an environment where alternate opinions are met with pure hatred and censorship. It’s why liberals bitterly complain about “normalization” and “platforming” when a liberal show does have a conservative on. The Left fears their members being exposed to alternate ideas, because it may lead to them starting to consider alternate views. It’s why they’re obsessed with “hate speech” and “misinformation,” which, as often as not, are nothing more than just ideas liberals disagree with. It’s also why cancel culture became a thing and large numbers of people ended up getting fired for making a joke, something they said years ago, or even mainstream conservative views the Left doesn’t agree with.
We could go on and on with this, but the upshot of it is that liberals are ANYTHING BUT champions of free speech.
Yet now that conservatives have started working overtime to get liberals fired for ghoulishly celebrating Charlie Kirk’s death, we’re already hearing liberals accuse conservatives of “cancel culture” and undermining “freedom of speech,” while they fret about a potential “chilling effect” on speech. For example:
I have no interest in being murdered to protect the right for liberals to call for people to murder me. I don't consider that cancel culture, but if you do, sign me up for that much of cancel culture.
To be absolutely clear, the “free speech” they’re talking about here is the ability to openly call for conservatives to be murdered and to celebrate the murder of a conservative who was killed by a liberal for his political beliefs. How does that work long-term in a free society? Do we start murdering each other until nobody is left who is willing to publicly espouse the opposite view? Is that what they’re angling for?
I know that most liberals live in a delusional world where the facts are whatever some sociopath at MSNBC or propagandist at the New York Times came up with to make Democrats look good, but if they think they’re going to murder us, celebrate it, call for it to happen again, then rinse and repeat until we’re dead, they are completely out of touch with reality. But, where else does this kind of behavior lead?
I genuinely hope all the anger and firings have a “chilling effect” on liberals calling for people to be murdered. I want them to fear losing their jobs, losing their friends, and being publicly scorned for celebrating the murder of someone whose political views they disagree with. That sounds like exactly the sort of thing a healthy society should want to “chill.”
We also can’t forget the way these situations normally go.
If a conservative does something wrong (and we are far from perfect), it often gets exaggerated, distorted, and we get viciously slammed as a group, often for things we really didn't even say, do, or think. On the other hand, when liberals do something wrong, like say murdering a prominent conservative and publicly cheerleading it in the most disgusting and abrasive way possible, we get a lecture about how both sides made some mistakes and are equally at fault. Then we’re supposed to stop talking about the subject because it makes liberals look bad.
You know, “Let’s turn down the temperature. Let’s have unity. Let’s agree that we all made some mistakes.”
No.
We’re not talking about a few people on the fringes here. Millions of liberals are acting like they’re possessed by demons. Not only are they endorsing murder, they’re celebrating someone being murdered for having mainstream conservative views that are probably held by more than 100 million people. There are already more than 60,000 liberals catalogued who’ve stupidly been willing to call for murder or celebrate Charlie Kirk’s death online, so the real number is undoubtedly at least several million:
What could very fairly be called incitement to murder cannot be allowed to continue because it creates an environment that will eventually lead to political violence on a wide scale and make our whole society untenable – and that is not an exaggeration.
We can AND DO disagree on an awful lot of things. If you put JD Vance and Kamala Harris in a room together and asked them about 100 different policies, they’d probably disagree on at least 95 of them. That certainly makes it extremely difficult to govern our society and even get along, but we are doing our best to muddle through.
Despite the fact that conservatives bitterly disagree with AOC, Joe Biden, Hasan Piker, Jasmine Crockett, Rachel Maddow, etc, we don’t hear public calls to murder them. Maybe someone did somewhere, but I’ve never even heard a conservative in private saying he hopes that they get assassinated, much less someone expressing that publicly. That’s not just how it should be, it’s how it HAS TO BE if we have any hope of living together in the same society.
Yet, people all over America have been seeing messages like this all week:
This kind of thing goes way beyond something like “fighting words” to something closer to “Either you kill us or we’re going to kill you.” You think that’s going to fly long-term? You think liberals can just keep talking to people like this without facing any real consequences for it?
If your view of “free speech” means openly calling for conservatives to die, then how do you think that plays out, given that conservatives have absolutely no intention of dying just to make liberals happy? At this point, it almost feels like the Left is deliberately angling for widespread violence, and only a practically miraculous level of restraint by conservatives has kept things under control so far (Thank God).
The Left in America desperately needs a course correction, not excuses for assassinations, calls for murders, and celebrating people’s deaths because they disagree with them.

Some years ago, in a United Way meeting about diversity I had the temerity to mention to the gaggle of liberal women assembled to revile the Boy Scouts policy on gay scoutmasters. After hours of nonsensical palaver, I told the assembled diverse ladies that the only thing they were not going to tolerate was a diversity of thought. This was in '93 and it has only gotten worse, to the point of murder. I cannot think of one Democrat pundit, podcaster, reporter, columnist, celebrity or politician that I would believe about anything they uttered regarding unity, democracy, civility or bipartisanship. Just lies.
Someone recently pointed out that the leftists read and interpret the constitution the same way as atheists read the bible, hoping to find some way to use it against the people that actually believe in both. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of those antifa and blm scum are armed up and hoping for a fight. I do wonder where they get the idea that they won't be slaughtered if such a thing were to come about. I am 100% certain that all branches of law enforcement and the military will back the conservative right in any such event. I believe that a lot of people are on edge, waiting for the other shoe to drop, and I for one, am ready. I am not going anywhere unarmed for the foreseeable future. This is what the left has done to our country.
