In addition to long term jail sentences for these repeat criminals, the judges or DA's who refuse to prosecute them need to pay a price too. I'd prefer their punishment be sharing a jail cell with the criminals they prosecuted, if any, for the same length of time as the criminal's sentence. Sadly, they'd probably be sharing a jail cell with a white collar type, not the animals they've negligently or purposefully allowed to prey on the public these judges and DA's are appointed to serve.

What these DA's and judges really deserve is to be jailed and share a cell with the animals they refused to prosecute for the first time through 50, once that animal has finally been prosecuted and sentenced, hopefully for the rest of its life and theirs. Seriously, there needs to be consequences, serious ones, for the judges and DA's who flagrantly refuse to do their jobs!

Even stupid people understand that locking up repeat offenders would reduce crime rate; however, if your goal is the destruction of the American system in particular and western civilization in general, then rampant crime is an intended feature, not a bug.

Bingo. "Suicidal Empathy" is the mental pathology that affects leftists, but it's the *!&@ judges that are the criminal enforcers of this treason against the law abiding citizens. I dislike the fact that I don't seem to have any say in this matter, but it seems that we need to abide and let God have our vengeance. It's intensely frustrating to watch these supposedly learned people practice politics and ignore their actual jobs.

Think Wesley Mouch and the other looters from Atlas Shrugged. We’ve known for decades this was their goal, but because they play the long, long game, most people don’t realize it until well, until we end up where we are today. We still lack the public voices to explain this to the people.

The newer problem is that people might have to stop looking at their phones every five minutes and think. How many people do you think have read Atlas Shrugged? The story about the Twentieth Century Motor Car company ought to be taught in every grade school in the country. Ayn lays out a perfectly plausible scenario- one we see repeated every day in our country, via public welfare- that ought to penetrate even the sensibilities of a leftist. Maybe. Unless they think Trump might agree with John Galt, in which case of course they'd have to reject those concepts.

In the world I want and I assume you want, the book would be read to and taught to the young. This would be the message of our movies, TVs, our education system, etc. but, then, the looters and leeches would be forced to give up control and forced look for work for which they’re entirely unqualified.

Good column, John, and this soft on crime pattern is the recurring theme of today's left wing cretins. Anything to advance, what? Lawlessness, death, destruction, depravity, danger, breakdown of society? Despite all their hand-wringing about fascism, if you were trying to cause a strong man reaction, what more certain path could you devise? This reminds me of this weekend's latest "crisis," the military's strikes on South American drug boats. It's hard for me to contemplate being so stupid that you'd be more worried about the "rights" of foreign narco-terrorists to smuggle in drugs that will kill hundreds of Americans than the deterrent effect of blowing them to hell and posting the video of the strike. Personally, I'd be fine with pushing a few brief-case toting ACLU lawyer-types out of a C-130 before the drone strikes. Let's see if maybe they can get the terrorists to turn around first? Ha! They're just too dumb and too ridiculous to breathe!

Hmmm...would that there were a more permanent--yet merciful!--solution to this problem.

(Cues up Tom Paxton's "Bring back the Chair!") :-)

Please see https://mcmichaeltrial.com . Three men defending their neighborhood from a known felon with several arrests and psychiatric disorder. Multiple burglaries in the neighborhood and the felon was on video several times in a home under construction where electronics were missing. 2 of the men, father and son, both veterans and x law enforcement. Father was police officer and investigator for local DA for 30 plus years. ZERO complaints on his record. The son was 10 year veteran of US Coast guard. Boarding officer and mechanic. Great evaluations. Both men saved several lives. Black and White. The suspect attacked the Son and attempted to take his gun. Struggle occurred and attacker was shot. All 3 men are now spending life in prison for malice murder and charged for federal hate crimes , another life sentence federally. All three men have never been in trouble. They were productive members of society and two had saved lives. Then we have these people that have committed 72 crimes walking around. Hopefully, the next decent person who protects themselves from these criminals will not end up in prison for life. Not only are we allowing them to walk free, but we are punishing their victims.
